TCRA gave a warning about the virus online

Following the threat of the presence of attendant software (software) with strains of WannaCry, Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has warned computer users to forgo unfamiliar attachments to their emails.

In addition, institutions have needed to take care of data offline to avoid side effects if the virus zitashambuliwa computer, along with strengthening the defense mechanisms against viruses.

TCRA Director General, James Laba noted the spread of a virus affecting the software and reach to block files or systems, or systems of the screen to freeze or destroy files on a computer.

"The problem happens, hackers (wadukuzi) demanding a certain amount of money in order to retrieve a file on the computer. Pay the money does not give you the guarantee of the affected files, so we advise users to non-payment of financial institutions.

"If a user or institutions are faced with the problem then report back to the national team of emergency computer (TZCERT)," he said.

Malaba said the threat of the virus is not in the computer WannaCry alone but also on modern annex opened or if the link with the virus.

Laba said virus WannaCry harming programs on computers outdated or software insecure especially Microsoft Server Message Block 1.0 (SMBv1) issued earlier this year by Microsoft as a way to prevent vulnerability and users of Microsoft can save their computer to put through security .
