TRA has collected 10.87 trillion shillings for months 9


Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has issued a report revenues collected within 9 months from June 2016 to March 2017 which is 10.87 trillion, an increase of 9.99 percent compared to the previous year.

Speaking to reporters Director of Services and Taxpayer Education Richard Kayombo said more than 1.34 trillion was collected in March 2017 alone indicating a rise of 23.2 percent compared as the new collections in 2016 which was collected trillion "1.31.

"In the 9-month period which extends from the month of June 2016 to the month March 2017, the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has succeeded to collect a total of 10.87 trillion Tanzanian shillings it is a collection of nine months," said Kayombo.

He went on to explain that, "In the month of March 2017 TRA has collected a total of 1.34 trillion shillings compared to 31.1 trillion in March 2016 which is equivalent to 2.23 per cent. With the success we are experiencing in the last nine months, in the next three months remains TRA will ensure collects various taxes in order to achieve the goal of collecting 15.1 trillion per year. "

In addition other measures, Kayombo said TRA continues with its plan to collect taxes on buildings to provide special tax rates for buildings which have not been assessed.
