TRA reaches the limit registration of TIN

Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has not itaoongeza days verifying identification number of the taxpayer (TIN) in Dar es Salaam after the expiration date, and so all those that have not been reviewed will be cleared of their numbers and will be required to apply for renewal.




For the first time TRA planned to make verification of TIN for 60 days between August and October but many emerging after the deadline was added to November and the third time was moved up to January 31. The aim of the review is to eliminate the old system of the registration numbers.

Director of Services and Taxpayer Education (TRA), Richard Kayombo, said due to the large number of people who need to be verified numbers, the authorities decided to move forward the time to provide the same service with open centers to provide services where staff did the job until Saturday Sunday to give workers a chance.

He said the consequences for people who are serious TIN cleared as traders and truck drivers their licenses will be invalid and will be done for the crime of doing business would be an identifying number.

"Those who will not be cleared reviewed their TIN numbers, going to have to apply for renewal although he sought to apply them to renew their debt back," he stressed Kayombo.

One of the men who went to verify their numbers Torch center, Abdul Namwelesi criticized the procedure was suggested verification would be sustainable rather than setting specific time due to the difficulty of all people assessed at the same time.
