JPM ACHARUKA, AMUAGIZA CAG EVALUATE THE MINING SECTOR


Magufuli President has ordered the CAG to audit detailed in the mining sector and identify gaps all of which leads to lack of substantial income countries, particularly in tax exemptions, various contracts and paying taxes.




He has kept it today when he received the report of the Controller and Auditor General of Government (CAG) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2016 the State House in Dar es Salaam.


The report submitted by the Controller and Auditor General of Government (CAG) Prof. Juma Mussa Assad at a ceremony attended by Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Kassim Destiny Destiny.

The report has touched various areas, including inspection of the state of the accounts of the government, tax exemptions, tax collection and revenue of the government, the development and implementation of the budget, the state of the national debt, management of human resources, management of assets and liabilities of the Government and management and operation of public institutions, including important financial institutions and Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO).


Prof. Mussa Juma Assad said with a big step taken by the Government to comply with financial regulations there are still weaknesses that continued to emerge and has suggested measures be taken to deal with it, including control leakages of public funds in mining, avert TANESCO buy electricity expensive, use evil exemptions and increase machine provide receipts (EFD).


According to the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania, CAG should submit a report to the accounts of the Government to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania before 31 March of each year, and after that the report submitted to Parliament in the next session.
